I have been at the frontier of entertainment technology and art for over 25 years. With engineering degrees from UC Berkeley and UCLA, I worked for Walt Disney Imagineering developing new technologies for theme park rides. I have numerous patents on ride and entertainment technology. And I have worked with some of the world’s most recognized artists helping them with their sculptural creations.
My medium is a machine that I built called "Reflecting Pool". It is a digital kaleidoscope that uses video feedback to generate fractal images. Reflecting Pool has been publicly displayed at art galleries and at the Exploratorium in San Francisco.
Reflecting Pool is one of a number of machines envisioned for a collection of works called "The Garden of Strange Loops". These works explore the concept of Emergence: complexity spontaneously arising from simple rules applied recursively.
